Chalice California – San Bernardino
July 13, 2018 - July 15, 2018
About This Festival
Some people just want to blaze in peace, but most music festivals forbid the use of illegal substances on their grounds. Legality seems like a never-ending battle in the North American market, and then there’s the renowned Chalice Festival in Victorville, California, the world’s largest glass, hash, music and art festival. Combining superstar music talent and elite cannabis companies into one jam-packed weekend, Chalice California is the tomato-eyed experience you deserve. You can look forward to a stacked lineup, the best products in the cannabis industry, mind-blowing glass art and so much more at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds this summer.
The Music
A Grateful Dead concert this is not. Chalice California boasts top-notch talent in the music industry representing electronic, rap, hip-hop and bass genres. In previous years, the smoky music festival saw the likes of Ice Cube, Manic Focus, Wu-Tang Clan and Cypress Hill, among many other top-selling artists. In 2018, hip-hop and bass heads will be treated to Bassnectar’s skull-crushing beats, Ludacris’ rap crossover hits and many other popular artists on stage.
The Hash
Attend virtually any other festival in search of good weed and you’ll always have eyes in the back of your head. The threat of doughy cops trying to look busy isn’t a problem at Chalice California, because you can get the good stuff here without consequences. Held outdoors on the fairgrounds, this celebration of cannabis culture features a wealth of onsite vendors who compete in a variety of categories including “Highest THC Solvent,” “Highest CBD Flower,” and “Highest THC Distillation,” among over a dozen other categories. If you don’t care about who wins the expertly judged Chalice Competition, no worries, because you’ll have full access to high-quality brands and the gnarliest inventions all the same.
The Glass
Beyond ganja and heavy-hitting music, the “Glass Village” might be the highlight of your Chalice festival experience. Wickedly talented glassblowers from around America will be on site to showcase their beautiful glass art, including necklaces, pipes and more complex pieces. Using torches, these artists heat the glass to more than 1,000 degrees in order to achieve their designs, which is no easy task when it’s already 100-plus degrees in Victorville, California. You can expect hundreds of unique pieces and live glass-blowing demos to get a sense of each artists’ techniques.
